Nitrogen usually accounts for some 1-5% of the organic substance in terms of dry weight. As an elementary constituent of amino and nucleic acids, proteins, proteids and nucleotides, chlorophyll and numerous secondary substances such as alkaloids, it is an important constituent of the protoplasm and those cell constituents responsible for the storage and transfer of genetic information; the chromosomes, genes and ribosome’s. Also as a constituent of enzymes, nitrogen is implicated in all enzyme reactions taking place in the cells and thus plays an active role in energy metabolism.

As mentioned earlier, nitrogen deficiency inhibits protein synthesis, were plants unable to demobilize the nitrogen in the nitrogenous cell constituents of older organs, growth would cease completely. The first constituents to be decomposed under such circumstances are the proteins of the plasma and plastids, the nucleic acid content remaining virtually unchanged, and the function of the cell nucleus being retained until the very end. The decomposition of the Chloroplasts lead to the typical pale green appearance ranging up to a ‘general chlorosis’ of the plants concerned. |

| The loss of nitrogen is the soils is very common due to volatilization, denitrification and leeching. In order to avoid losses of nitrogen and to increase the nitrogen efficiency in the soils KARNATAKA AGRO CHEMICALS released product called MULTIPLEX UREA COAT which contain powdered neem kernel with 7% neemoil content. |
