 ABOUT NEEM
Neem, a popular Indian scared tree, now drawing worldwide attention in the field of pest control, is botanically known as Azadiractha indica which is an evergreen tropical tree. Each and every part of the neem tree is useful in one or the other way. Howe ever seeds or kernels are the most valued from the point of pest control. Neem is so versatile with its highly diversified pesticide and medicinal values now are universally accepted as an eco friendly biological pesticide against a wide range of patricide against a wide range of pests and diseases.
 MULTINEEM – A BIO-PESTICIDE – NEED OF THE DAY
The ecological consequences of intensive use of synthetic chemical pesticides becoming increasingly recognized all over the world. To reduce the deleterious effects caused by these synthetic chemicals, the need for and natural pesticides is strongly awaited. At this juncture, we are happy of introducing MULTINEEM , a neem based on eco friendly biological pesticides which is affective a wide range of crop pests including mites, plant nematodes and diseases causing fungi, multineem is a plant origin pesticide leaves no toxic residues when applied and is not harmful to animals and human beings.
WHAT MAKES THE MULTINEEM BIO-PESTICIDES ?
Multineem is a neem derived pesticides having multitude of pesticide active ingredients which are together called “Triterpens” more specifically ‘Limonoids’ The four best Limonoid compounds which are effective in controlling a wide range of deadly agricultural pests are Azadiractha, Salonnin, Meliantriol and Nimbin. However among these Azadiractha is a principle active component for repelling and acting as antifeedant to insects. These Limonoid compounds in their structure bear, no resemblance to synthetic pesticides, as they are composed only and no atoms of Chlorine as found in today’s most synthetic pesticides.
 HOW MULTINEEM CONTROLS CROP PESTS
Multineem contains a complex active ingredient which acts in different ways under different circumstances. Neem pesticides is unique in that it is not an outright killer, instead it alters an Insects behaviors or life or life processes, in ways that can be extremely subtle. Eventually however insects can no longer feed or breed metamorphoses thus avoiding any further damages to crops.
MAULTINEEM ACTS ON CROP PESTS IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS.
By its patricidal activity, disrupts the growth processes of insects: The active ingredients (Limonoid) of this neem pesticide structurally similar to insect hormones called “Ecdysones”, These Ecdysones in insects regulate the process of metamorphosis as adult. When Multi neem is sprayed, the bodies of the insects absorbed the neem compounds as if they are real hormones. So these neem active ingredients soon after their entry into insect’s body, act as “Ecdysones blockers” which block the production and release of vital hormones required for reproductive activity.
   Eventually this-
Disrupts mating and sexual communication (release of pheromones) in insects.
Deters females from laying eggs and poisons eggs (ovicidal of pheromones).
Sterilizes adults.
Disrupts or prevents molting thus larva will not develop into pupa or an adult.
Even if the adults are formed, they will be weak and abnormally and will not survive for long time, thus avoiding perpetuation of generation. Therefore as the populations of pests are brought down through usage of Multineem, it makes the major pests of today as the minor ones of tomorrow.
 ACTS AS A STRONG REPELLENT OR ANTIFEEDANT TO INSECTS.
Multineem with its bitter and strongly odoured active ingredients keeps the insects away from plants.
When treated with Multineem, insects will not feed on plant parts, instead they starve and die. This way Multineem is more effective in deterring insect’s pests including nematodes from feedings on plant parts than today’s most synthetic repellants.
 CROP PESTS CONTROLLED BY MULTINEEM.
Having a variety of biologically active ingredients Multineem is effective against vast number of crop pests. Major groups of the crop pests effectively controlled by Multineem are plant hoppers, Leaf hoppers (ex: Brown plant hopper in Rice) Pod/Fruit borers in fruits, vegetables and cereals, Caterpillars and Moths, Thrips, Beetle, Plant bugs, Gall Widges, Fruit flies, White flies, Grass hoppers, Locusts, Aphids, Psyllids and Scale insects.
Multineem is also effective against plant parasitic nematodes. As a prophylactic nematodes measure, seedling/ cuttings can be dipped in Multineem solution before planting to avoid nematode infestation.
Multineem also effective against many faunal diseases like smuts, rusts, powdery mild new, rots and wilts.
 APPLICATION OF MULTINEEM.
 PREPARATION OF MULTINEEM SPRAY SOLUTION.
Multineem is recommended at the rate of 2-3 ml per liter of water. For preparing the solution, first take the required quantity of Multineem Liquid (at the recommended rate) in a bucket (about 3 feet) and spirit well to get a good uniform emulsion. This emulsion can either be used for direct spray or can be mixed with other recommended pesticides or fungicide solutions. For better efficacy it is advised to spray the prepared solution immediately and not to store it for longer time.
Multineem is highly effective when used as a preventive application, but should be sprayed at regular for better efficacy. However in cases, where the pest damage is severe, Multineem can be mixed with other chemical pesticides and sprayed.
When Multineem is mixed with other recommended chemicals pesticides,( use only 50% of chemical pesticides), the toxic active ingredients in chemical pesticides quickly Knock down the pests with ease and at the same time, Multineem with its strong antifeedant/ repellant and patricidal characters disrupts the growth processes of insects and Keeps the insects making them to starve and die. Multineem when sprayed prevents secondary infestation from adjacent fields and deters the mother moths from laying eggs profusely. Consequently further flare-up of pests (Pests resurgence) is prevented.
 MULTINEEM VERSUS SYNTHETIC CHEMICAL PESTICIDE
The synthetic Chemicals are less degradable and leave in Soil, Water and Food. Hence intensive use of these chemicals has polluted the environment endangering living species.
Multineem is a plant based pesticides which is easily degradable leaving no toxic residues when applied. Hence it is environment friendly and is safe to human beings and animals.
Today due to indiscriminate application of synthetic pesticides, the target pests are developing resistance leading to outbreak of new pests (i.e. new strains).
Whereas insects find it difficult to develop resistance to Multineem (Neem Pesticides) because of complexity of active ingredients present in them and its mode of action.
Neem Pesticides do not harm natural predators because of its selective mode of action and maintains ecological harmony. Because of these favorable features Multineem can be ideally used in Integrated Pest Management (I.P.M).
