Multilaxins (diseases immunity inducers) are chemicals produced by the plant as a results of interaction of the ‘host’ and ‘parasite’. They inhibit the growth of pathogenic organisms. Some of the important water borne and phytomycetes diseases against which externally induced phytoalexins have been successfully used against Downy mildew of Grapes, Late blight of Potato, Damping off in vegetable seedlings(Cardamom and papaya). Die back and leaf fall in mosambi, soft rot ginger and turmeric;budrot, fruit or and fail of coconut and areacanut;buttons Damping off, foot-rot, fruit rot and late blight of tomato and fall of coconut and Arecaunt; pepper; Azugal in Cardamom; Bud fall in clove ; abnormal leaf fall in rubber wilt in black strawberry, Downy mildew of lettuce, tobacco, pea, etc.
Multilaxins is therefore strongly recommended for Phytomycetes diereses in Vegetables, Fruits, Spices, Plantation Crops and Grapes.
Phytoalexins have been recorded in 139 plant species which are produced after infection:
  1. Veneering in Grapes
  2. Rishitin Rice
  3. Phaseol in Moongbean
  4. Moracin in forestry
Phytoalexins (disease immunity inducers) are produced in the plant, when infected,as under :
  1. Infection
  2. Susceptible varieties of plant develop diseases aymptoms while resultant varieties produce Phytoalexins.
